 The Lantana has a strong reputation that is based on providing great cuisines and excellent customer service for over 35 years. In 1956, Maurice and Joan Hart started a small catering company in the kitchen of their home in Roslindale. By 1960, the growth of the company forced the Harts to move their business to the old HP Hood plant in Dorchester. A decade later, the Hart’s noticed that the South Shore was lacking in function space so they built the Lantana Function Facility in Randolph. During the next decade, The Lantana’s popularity and reputation grew dramatically propelling it to the premiere event facility in the area.
In 1996 a new era of the Lantana started. Paul Hart, Maurice and Joan’s youngest son, purchased the business from his parents. It was a natural progression for Paul since he “grew up” in the business working every conceivable job progressing to Night Manager and then General Manager in 1992. Under Paul’s management, The Lantana has seen many changes including the renovation and addition of function / meeting rooms that offer customers a convenient flexibility, room sizes can be altered to accommodate groups raging from 5 to 2,000 people.
Paul’s philosophy on running the business is to put a fair chunk of your profits back into the business and customers will take notice and return. Paul has invested over $2 million in the infrastructure, décor, and the professional staff over the last several years. This philosophy has worked well, setting the Lantana apart from the competition.
 The Lantana has also operated and managed offsite-catering partnerships through Seacoast Catering, a division of The Lantana. Seacoast Catering is operated and managed with the same passion for perfection. Each catering event is managed and staffed by experienced and trained Lantana team members. Bringing their experience and expertise to assist our partners be the best.
The Lantana strives to make every event perfect from the place settings to the food and the service. With over 40,000 square feet of space and 15 meeting and function rooms, we can accommodate any sized group.
